Justin Quaid Grubb is from Bloomington, IN. He earned a BFA in Ceramics from the IUPUI Herron School of Art & Design in 2019. This rigorous program focused on the development of various technical abilities, with interdisciplinary practice highly encouraged. While at Herron, Grubb also studied CNC Milling and Design, Studio Art and Technology, Sociology and earned a minor in Art History with special studies in German Expressionism, Digital Art and Design, Contemporary Art and Women in Art. In June 2021, Grubb earned his MFA in Ceramics from the Rhode Island School of Design. The RISD Ceramics MFA program is an internationally recognized program that promotes independent research and experimentation. During this time, he worked in consultation with faculty advisors, Lesley Baker, Katy Schimert, Anina Major, Nicole Cherubini, Jeannine Falino and thesis advisor Glenn Adamson. Grubb's independent research at RISD includes special studies in, Queer Film, American Consumer Culture and Interdisciplinary Collaboration.
